Underpromotion
Underpromotion means promoting a pawn to a rook, bishop, or knight instead of a queen. The reason is concrete: a queen would stalemate the king, or a knight promotion is the move that gives check.
Before you promote to a queen, look at the enemy king's moves. If the queen takes the last flight square without giving check, the position is stalemate and the game is drawn.
