Knight endgame

A knight endgame is won and lost on king position and pawn weaknesses. The knight changes color with every move, so it can attack either color, but it is slow and it cannot lose a tempo the way a bishop can.

Keep your knight near passed pawns. A knight on the edge has fewer moves, which is why knight forks in the center are stronger than knight moves on the rim.
