Hook mate
Hook mate uses a rook, a knight, and a pawn. The rook checks along the file, a friendly pawn protects the rook and blocks one flight square, and the knight covers the rest. An enemy pawn often closes the remaining escape, which is the hook.
The shape sits on the edge of the board. If you have a pawn on the sixth rank beside an enemy pawn, look for a rook check on the next file.
