Double check

A double check is a discovered check in which the moving piece also gives check. The king is attacked twice at once, so it must move. Capturing one checker or blocking one line is not enough.

Double check is the reason a king can be forced into a corner in a single move. Look for a piece that can move with check while uncovering a second check.
